The Rose Garden Needs You:  On Saturday, April 25th there will be a big deadheading event at the rose garden.  Check out the article in Abridged here:

https://www.abridged.org/news/mckinley-park-rose-garden/. This is a great opportunity to learn how to properly prune roses so that you can help keep our glorious roses happy and healthy year round.  Come out to 3255 H St from 9 a.m. to noon.

McKinley Park Trash Dash This Sunday at 10 am:  Calling all Trash Dashers. Come out to our beautiful park and make it shine for all to see. We will be out, rain or shine! We will meet up by the Duck Pond at McKinley Park. Lots of friendly faces will be out to help us clean up around the park. We will have our litter getters, trash bags, gloves and lots of friendly faces out to make our park shiny.
This is a great opportunity for anyone that needs some community service hours. We will gladly sign any volunteer paperwork!

Upcoming McKinley Park Trash Dash:  We will be out on again on May 17th for our BIG Trash Dash and would love your help picking things up around our urban gem.  Did you see that McKinley Park was rated a top ‘micro-escape’?  Check it out here.   Our Trash Dashes are held from 10 am until noon, and we meet in front of the Duck Pond by the Playground.

SacBee Open House for MESA:  Midtown-East Sac Advocates are invited to meet at the Sacramento Bee’s office on Alhambra for an open house.  SacBee staffers and leadership will be there to hear from us and tell us about the paper’s involvement in the community. It will be a gathering of Midtown-East Sacramento Advocates and Sacramento Bee staffers and leadership. Executive Editor Chris Fusco will share the paper’s goals and plans for the year, the history of The Bee and how they’re working to remain the primary news source in Sacramento

Where:  1601 Alhambra Blvd., Suite 100. (When you enter the parking lot, our suite is to your left).

When: Thursday June 11, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

City Council Meeting May 5th:  At the May 5th City Council meeting the budget will be discussed.  Please Plan to Attend or Submit Comments.  More details to come.
