McKinley Park Trash Dash This Sunday at 10 am: Calling all Trash Dashers. Come out to our beautiful park and make it shine for all to see.
We will meet up by the Duck Pond at McKinley Park. Lots of friendly faces will be out to help us clean up around the park. We will have our litter getters, trash bags, gloves and lots of friendly faces out to make our park shiny.
This is a great opportunity for anyone that needs some community service hours. We will gladly sign any volunteer paperwork!
Check out Facebook and Nextdoor for more details.
Mark Your Calendar, Future City Sponsored Trash Dash:
February 22, same time, same place. This will likely be our grant funded trash dash, so come on out for donut, coffee and pizza afterward.
Volunteers Needed – Point-In-Time Count January 26 and 27: In two weeks the Point-In-Time (PIT) Count will be conducted over two nights. This is an important data collection project to find out how many people are experiencing homelessness in the city, and allow appropriate funding from the county and state to help those who are unhoused in our community. Nothing Happens Unless Someone Knows There’s a Problem. Ever wonder why something isn’t being done about an unsafe situation in the area? If it isn’t reported to the City, it is as if it isn’t happening. So, REPORT, REPORT, REPORT. We all need to report issues that are happening to create a record of the problem with the city. If you see something off in your area, report it. It has been discovered that the only way the City is responding to issues regarding People Experiencing Homelessness (PEH) is if a 311 report is filed. Call 311, or better yet, use the 311 app to report issues with PEH. Here’s the link to the app: https://www.cityofsacramento.
Don’t Hesitate to Contact 911, Sac Police or Fire When Necessary. If you see something not right in the neighborhood, REPORT IT. We have all seen unsafe conditions in our neighborhood. If you see a situation unfolding that could cause harm to anyone or anything, call 911. If you need to report something to our police force, but it isn’t an emergency situation, please call the SacPD non-emergency number at 916-808-5471. See a fire burning where it shouldn’t? Call Sac Metro Fire’s number at 916-228-3035. If you are having other issues, contact 311. Report issues to 311, but if you know it is an emergency, don’t hesitate—call 911.

Keep Spreading the Word: We continue to be over 300 subscribers strong, and our subscribers are VERY engaged! We love sharing what’s going on in the neighborhood. Please encourage friends and families to join our mailing list. And remember, if you ever want to unsubscribe, we understand. Just hit the link at the bottom of this email and it will be taken care of. See you around the neighborhood!
