Trash Dash McKinley Park

Jul 12, 2024

McKinley Park Trash Dash this Sunday: Plan to come out on Sunday, July 14th for our monthly Trash Dash.  Let’s get out before it gets too hot.  The forecast is a cooler 99 degrees for the high, so it should be between 80-90 degrees while we are out working.  This is a very family friendly event, and also a great opportunity for any local students to get community service credits.

I’ll have trash bags, litter getters, gloves and water available for you.  Bring your can-do attitude, a smile, and a water bottle to fill up.  I got a bunch of lemons from a neighbor, so of course I’m making homemade lemonade!  Come out, meet some new friends and make our neighborhood shiny. Our group will be out there from 10 am until noon, meeting up by the duck pond. Wear a hat, slather on the sunscreen and make sure you stay hydrated!

Look for our signs at the park!

Next Trash Dash:  August 25th.  This is our quarterly event funded by a grant from the City of Sacramento.  We’ll have the Parks tool trailer out and our grant means we can feed you!  Plan to come by for donuts and coffee, and stay for pizza.

National Night Out August 6th 7-9 pm:  MESA is thrilled to work with our local law enforcement professionals to put on this community activity.  We will have an Ice Cream Social at McKinley Park.  Bring the family, pack a picnic and meet some of our local Sacramento Police Department, Sheriff and California Highway Patrol teams.  Maybe the FBI will even show up again!  This is a great time to learn about Neighborhood Watch programs and talk to the people who are committed to our safety.  More information to come.
