McKinley Park Issues: In the last few weeks we have been having people driving up into the park, driving along the sidewalks, doing donuts in the grass, and running over the curbs. Yesterday vehicles were driving next to the tennis courts in the running path. If you see this happening, please call Sac Police at either 916-808-5471 or 911. When there is a crime in progress do not hesitate to call SacPD directly. For other issues, including people camping in the park, please contact 311 either by phone or through the app. To use 311 online, go here: https://311.cityofsacramento.org/s/ and to get the app, follow this link.
McKinley Park Trash Dash Sunday August 31! Calling all Trash Dashers. Come out to our beautiful park and make it shine for all to see. We will have some heat, so bring a hat, sunblock and stay hydrated. We will meet up by the Duck Pond at McKinley Park. Lots of friendly faces will be out to help us clean up around the park. We will have our litter getters, trash bags, gloves and lots of friendly faces out to make our park shiny.
This is a great opportunity for anyone that needs some community service hours. We will gladly sign any volunteer paperwork! Find more info on Facebook and on Nextdoor.
Nothing Happens Unless Someone Knows There’s a Problem. Ever wonder why something isn’t being done about an unsafe situation in the area? If it isn’t reported to the City, it is as if it isn’t happening. So, REPORT, REPORT, REPORT. We all need to report issues that are happening to create a record of the problem with the city. If you see something off in your area, report it. It has been discovered that the only way the City is responding to issues regarding People Experiencing Homelessness (PEH) is if a 311 report is filed. Call 311, or better yet, use the 311 app to report issues with PEH. Here’s the link to the app: https://www.cityofsacramento.gov/information-technology/311/sac311-smartphone-app
