You are invited to a screening of the movie Beyond Homeless at William Land Park this Saturday, August 12 from 7-10 pm, brought to you by Hope for Sacramento. Hope for Sacramento is a local nonprofit working on a campus model shelter to provide services to Sacramento’s homeless. Following the highly successful Haven for Hope model from San Antonio, Texas, Hope for Sacramento is planning a similar campus here.
Beyond Homeless is an award winning documentary that discusses the homelessness crisis our state is facing, and the model that is working to lift people out of homelessness in San Antonio. This film was produced by Mary Theroux of the Independent Institute. She has called California home for more than 40 years, residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is working to help those experiencing homelessness and to create effective policies to solve the issues our communities are facing–always focusing on the people who are at the center of this crisis. Mary is available for interviews. You may reach her at (510) 632-1366 x108 or mtheroux@independent.org
Our city’s homeless crisis is touching all of us, both housed and unhoused. Please come to our screening to learn more about the Haven for Hope project and to support Hope for Sacramento’s plans here in Sacramento. Bring the family and some snacks for the movie screening. We have great weather on tap–but those Delta breezes may be bringing some cool winds–so bring something to keep you warm!
